This year's crab feast on Wednesday, July 13 was another big success!

Attendees enjoyed a feast of delicious, heavy crabs as well as a spread of wonderful food from the culinary masters at Kurtz's Beach. We were also excited to offer two new attractions at this year's gathering - a photo booth from Free State Photo Booth (special thanks to Katrina Williams), and a sports memorabilia auction table by LGC Sports Marketing (special thanks to Phil Walls).

A huge thank you to our event sponsors - Edward Jones Financial Advisor, Coffee News Maryland, Gab Communications, Idea Weaver Promotions, Ace Hardware of Lake Shore, Arundel Federal Savings Bank, Frank & Bills Auto Collision and Huff Insurance. We would also like to thank John Mason and his staff at Kurtz's Beach for another great event. Mark your calendars for next year's crab feast which will take place on Wednesday, July 12!

We need to thank Lisa Hart, Arundel Federal Savings Bank; Linda Loane, The Bank of Glen Burnie; Jerry Nicklow, Huff Insurance; Doug Cashmere, Ace Hardware & Hearth; Brad Davis, BB&T.

Our June General Membership Meeting was held at Celebrations at the Bay. What a beautiful venue and the food was fantastic. We thank Catering by Uptown for hosting this event and putting on a great event for us.

We were so proud to give away scholarships to 5 High School Seniors, 3 Eighth Graders and 2 Fifth Graders this year. Congratulations to Caroline Schultz, Northeast High School who received the Isabel Shipley Cunningham Scholarship Award. This scholarship is in honor of Mrs. Isabel Shipley Cunningham, an Annapolis author and former teacher, who spent years writing both books. Brady Cassell, Northeast High School, was awarded the Ed Lauer Scholarship. Mr. Ed Lauer of Lauer’s Supermarket and Bakery was a founding member and first president of the Pasadena Business Association 30 years ago.

Adam Beres, Coral Dittmar & Nathan Plaza were also High School Seniors who were award scholarships. Rylee Columb, Brian Plummer, and Eric Zhang were awarded the 8th grade scholarships. Lillian Evans and Rachael Zabko were awarded the 5th grade scholarships.

We are so proud of each and every student. Please understand that reading and deciding the winners is not an easy task. Mary Brodowski of BB&T and Linda Loane of The Bank of Glen Burnie volunteered for that task. I know it was a hard decision.

Thank you to the Education Committee for their efforts in making this a great event. Thanks to Katrina Williams of Katrina Krauss Photography/Free State Photo Booths for taking the great pictures for the day.

Chesapeake Christian Center celebrated the dedication of their new kitchen recently with a Ribbon Cutting. Pastor Copley says “Our doors are open to people of all backgrounds & cultures, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. We are a contemporary, Pentecostal church who loves the family and desires to see each individual grow.”

Pastor Copley and the members of Chesapeake Christian Center are always willing to give a hand when the PBA needs a facility or man power so we thank them and wish them the best. We are looking forward to some great home cooked meals out of their new kitchen.

Thanks to all of the Elected Officials who sent representation and Mike Phennicie, BWI – Thurgood Marshall Airport for presenting his famous Airplane pen.
