2014 5th and 8th Grade
The Pasadena Business Association is offering scholarships to selected 5th and 8th graders who attend an elementary or middle school in either Northeast or Chesapeake High School feeder system, or live in the attendance area for these schools but attend another public or private school.
We will offer a scholarship to three 5th graders and three 8th graders. The purpose of the scholarship is to teach students about the scholarship application process and the importance of having responsibilities and being an active member in the school and/or community.
Applications must be completed and returned to the school Guidance Department by March 27, 2014, or mailed to the PBA Office at P.O. Box 861, Pasadena, Maryland 21123-0861. Applications sent by mail must be postmarked no later than March 27, 2014. The Guidance Counselors have until the end of business on March 28, 2014 to deliver the applications to Tracey Jessilonis at Chesapeake Bank, (“Pastore’s Plaza”), 3820 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD. Applications received after these dates will not be processed.
Scholarship recipients will be honored at a PBA general membership luncheon meeting on June 4, 2014 at 12 o’clock at The Maryland Yacht Club, 1500 Fairview Beach Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122. Parents, Grandparents, etc. will be able to attend this luncheon at a cost of $18 each with a reservation.
The PBA Scholarship Fundraiser, Bull & Oyster Roast and 80’s Dance with a band, will be held on March 8th at Kurtz’s Beach. All proceeds are used to fund these scholarships. The scholarship amounts are based on the profit from the fundraiser. Please encourage your parents, friends, and neighbors to buy tickets to this wonderful event.
If you have any questions regarding the scholarships you can contact Scholarship Chair Tracey Jessilonis, Chesapeake Bank, 410-360-1100, firstname.lastname@example.org or the PBA office.
