Services Provided: Opportunity Ministries provides supportive transitional housing for men, women and Mother’s with children recovering from substance misuse disorder. We provide sober living facilities, help our participants maintain their sobriety, and teach valuable life skills to our participants while in the program. Each home has a kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry facilities, communal spaces, computers, Wi-Fi/basic cable, and an area for counseling. Our facilities and programs are located throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland. All houses are supervised, safe, and provide a friendly family setting for our participants needs.
Company Motto: Recovery, Restoration, Redemption.
Future Business Plans: To integrate financial training into all our current houses. We are taking the steps to incorporate a Workforce Development program in house. This program will implement “virtual ocular” training for participants wishing to learn various work skills and trades. Our goal is to expand our housing development to include apartment buildings to be able to house participants moving on from our transitional housing.
Community Involvement: Opportunity Ministries strives to be a leader in providing community solutions for the current drug epidemic regarding overdose response. Therefore, we provide free Narcan kits as well as free on sight Narcan training at community events such as: fairs, trade shows, festivals, and exhibits. Opportunity Ministry also has members of its staff as well as participants from their housing programs which volunteer for projects such as Be Kind, food pantries, and other events that help feed the homeless in Anne Arundel County and serve the community.
Membership: Opportunity Ministries has been a proud member of PBA for over 2 years and look forward to continuing our partnership. Our homes are MCORR (Maryland Certification Of Recovery Residences) Certified and we welcome community volunteers and involvement.
