Spring has Sprung!

The weather is heating up and I hope your businesses are as well. We are already through the first quarter of 2017. The year has started off great for the PBA. We recently held our annual scholarship fundraiser and not only was it a great time, it also was a great success. The event raised about $11,700. That is a huge number and it would not be possible without the support from our awesome PBA members and community that showed up and supported the event. I want to send a big thank you out to all of our sponsors for the event.

PLATINUM: Huff Insurance and St. John Properties.
GOLD: Anne Arundel Community College Foundation, BB&T, and Free State Photo Booth.
SILVER: Anderson Davis & Associates, CPA, PA , Arundel Federal Savings Bank, Edward Jones - Brian M. Conrad, CFP®, Moscker Insurance Agency, Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce
BRONZE: Ace Hardware and Hearth, Bruster's Ice Cream of Glen Burnie, Friends of Downs Park, Gunther Refuse Services, Lloyd's of Pennsylvania , and Oakley Construction.

These sponsors were a huge part of the success of the fundraiser. I want to thank Kurtz’s Beach and their staff for the great venue, food and service. And thanks to the band, Guys In Thin Ties. They put on a great show that left the crowd calling for an encore after their last song. I think the chant of “ONE MORE SONG, ONE MORE SONG” could be heard out over the bay when they finished up. And thank you to all of the businesses that donated items and services to our silent auction. The silent auction is a big part of our fundraiser and your donations are greatly appreciated. Last, but definitely not least, I want to thank everyone that helped out in organizing and running the event: Sandi Parrish, Lisa Hart, Ruth Toomey, Mary Brodowski, Linda Loane, Doug Cashmere, Larry Sells, Brandi Dorsey, Sam Tanner, Angela Balsamo, Brian Conrad, Christine Richardson and my family, Nancy Nicklow, Allie Nicklow and Dalton Nicklow for putting up with me during crazy times leading up to the event….If I forgot anyone, please accept my apologies and let me know. As you can see, it truly is a team effort and with the support of this team, my family, the entire PBA and the Pasadena Community, this event continues to get bigger and better each year.

I am looking forward to the many events that we have planned for the year with the next one being the Taste of Pasadena on April 25th. Tickets are on sale now! Tickets are limited to 325, so act fast to make sure you do not miss the event. .
