Thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s parade another great success! What a great afternoon it turned out to be. Henry Schmidt, The Hancock’s Resolution Foundation and Friends of Hancock’s Resolution were our grand marshals this year. What a treasure we have in Pasadena.
We want to thank all of this year’s corporate sponsors – ACE Hardware & Hearth, Bay Country Rentals, Calvert Veterinary Center, Cityline Business Park, Frank & Bills Auto Collision Center, Friends of Downs Park, The Gable Company, Huff Insurance, Kurtz's Beach, Pasadena Pawn & Gun, P3 Paintball, Maryland Yacht Club as well as our community sponsors - Friends of Judge Mark Crooks, Jim Fredericks for Sheriff, and AM PM Marine.
Also thanks to Himmel’s Farm & Garden for providing the décor, flowers and hay bales for the reviewing station, Delegate Nic Kipke for again being our emcee, and the Anne Arundel County Police & Reserve officers for maintaining traffic. Mark your calendar’s for the first Sunday in November next year – we’ll be back!
After the parade concluded, we went to Chesapeake Christian Center to unload the food. Special thanks to the Northeast High School football team for helping with this unloading process. Thanks to Gable, Lauer’s Supermarket, and the community we were able to supply seven Pasadena church pantries. We want to thank the church members from Chesapeake Christian Center, Our Lady of the Chesapeake, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Magothy United Methodist Church, and Community United Methodist Church for helping me sort all of the food.
For those that complain about the traffic for the two hours of the parade please look at the good this parade does other than just having fun. Food from this parade feeds many in our local neighborhoods who are in need. The picture below is the amount of food one pantry received—and we did this 7 times. AWESOME!
