PBA held their first Coffee with a Cop thanks to McDonald’s of Riviera Beach.  This was a great way for the community to come in and meet those that serve and protect us every day.   We hope to do more of these and hope that you will stop by the next time and meet the Captain Urbas and Lt. Crosse and the officers from the Eastern District.  As you can see from the pictures young and not so young came out to say hello.

Our Golf Tournament was a success and a lot of fun.  The weather was a little hot but still a nice day.   We had 70 golfers tee off which was great.  The golfers were treated to a continental breakfast, hot dogs on the turn, and a smoke house buffet.  We want to thank all the golfers and businesses who made this day so successful.

We held a Ribbon Cutting for Mike’s Pharmacy on October 1^st.

It was a good turnout despite the weather.  Mike’s had a raffle drawing all week and gave away a football signed by Justin Tucker as well as $250 and $100 gift cards. Congratulations to the winners.

Senator Bryan Simonaire and Delegate Simonaire presented Mike with a citation. Lisa Hart from Arundel Federal Savings Bank and a PBA Board member presented a citation on behalf of County Executive Schuh. Our August meeting was at Cheshire Crab and the food was outstanding. The crab cakes were delicious. Cheshire is under new ownership and will be open all year. John Giovanazi, Arundel Federal Savings Bank talked about Small Business Loans and what to expect from your lender. John had a member of the Small Business Association there to answer any questions the members had. It was a very informative meeting.

The dog days of summer are well upon us already. I’ll keep my message short this month, because I am sure you would rather enjoy your cold beverage of choice instead of reading a long drawn out message from me.

This is the time to dig down deep and make things happen for your business. It is easy to be on vacation mode this time of year and coast through the summer and chalk up a slow quarter to summer vacations. But it is also a great time to dig deep, build relationships and move your business forward. Before you know it, the 4th quarter of 2016 will be upon us and the time to plan for a strong finish to the year is now. So while you are out enjoying the summer, like we were at our annual crab feast at Kurtz’s beach a few weeks ago, or like we were at the 2nd annual Eastern District National Night Out on August 2nd, or at the monthly meeting held on August 3rd at Cheshire Crab, make sure you take the time to solidify your relationships with the community and with the other great business leaders of the PBA. These relationships will help your business grow and become and help it become an established and respected part of the Pasadena community.

The PBA held a Ribbon Cutting for Lake Shore Pet Hospital in Lake Shore Plaza.  Lisa Hart from Arundel Federal Savings Bank presented a citation on behalf of the County Executive and Delegate Nic Kipke was there to present a citation for the District 31 Delegation.  Thanks to Nic who appears at all of our Ribbon Cuttings.  PBA President Jerry Nicklow presented a citation on behalf of the PBA and Kim Davidson presented a citation from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and one of the famous airplane pens.
